Second Chance 2

Sequel to Intense Problems

Carly rushes from the restaurant to her car, thanking God that this night she brought her own car, and is about to unlock it, when a strong hand grabs her by the arm and swings her around to face the owner of it.

“Carly!” He says still in shock that she is standing in front of him, as she takes several deep breathes in an effort to stay calm.

“Please don’t say anything Please, I’m begging! Just let me go.” Carly desperately pleads, as she tries to break his hold on her arm.

“Carly just calm down.” The man says, as he looks into her eyes and sees totally panic.

“Carly I’m not going to bite you.” The man says in a lighter tone, hoping to relax her atleast a little.

“Swiftly Please!” Carly pleads almost in tears.

“Carly?” Marshall says as he slowly walks up to them, praying he’s not seeing things, as they both look over at him.

“I have to go.” Carly mumbles as Swifty release her arm, and she frantically tries to unlock the car door, but drops the keys and Marshall quickly picks them up.

Marshall and Carly eyes connect, and Swifty takes a quick step back swearing to himself that he actually can feel the electrics between the two.

“Is Someone Gonna Tell Me What The Hell Is Goin’ ON!” Dru asks in a loud confused tone, as she is walking up to the three people.

“Swifty McVa Here and you must be . . .” Swifty starts to say, but Dru throws up her hand to him, more concerned about her friend, then his pick up line.

“Carly are you alright?” Dru sincerely asks in concern, as she walks over to her best friend.

“Yeah . . .” Carly mumbles as Marshall slowly hands her the keys and she quickly begins to unlock the car door, as Dru hurries around to the other side.

Carly quickly gets into the car trying desperately not to look back at Marshall, as she unlocks the passenger door as he is slowly shutting her door.

Carly quickly glances at the two men before pulling off. The trip home is very quite Carly concentrating on driving, trying desperately to get Marshall out of her head, Dru worried about her best friend.

“I’m not going to ask tonight, but in the morning Girl! you have a lot of explaining to do!” Dru firmly states, with a smile, as Carly is pulling into her driveway and turning off the car.

“Thanks.” Carly sincerely says as they hug then get out of the car.

“I’m sure everything gonna be okay.” Dru sincerely says, as she is walking across the lawn towards her own house, as Carly is slowly moving towards her’s.

“Good night.” Carly tries cheerfully to say, as she stops and turns and looks over at Dru.

“Good Night!” Dru yells back as she is walking up on her porch, thinking about what could her friend possible be hiding.

Several hours later Carly lay in her bed still awake, not able to turn her brain off or her heart for that matter. Finally totally agitated she turns on the night-light and takes the five by seven framed picture from the nightstand and looks at it. Then flops back into the bed, trying to convince herself that she’s made the right choices, as she continues to hold tightly to the framed picture.

Another hour of tossing and turning passes and Carly thinks she hears a soft knock at the front door, and lays perfectly still holding her breathe, hoping that she only imaged it, but hears it again and prays it’s Dru, not her worst fear.
